The Browns went 1-15 in 2016, and managed to follow it up by going winless in 2017. It was only the second time in NFL history that a team went 0-16, the 2008 Detroit Lions being the other organization with the notorious accolade.

With No. 1 pick Baker Mayfield at quarterback, Cleveland bounced back to a 7-8-1 season last year. The offseason acquisition of superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has among the Dog Pound for the 2019 season.

Not everyone is sold. Bleacher Report NFL writer Bobby Burack wrote this week, Sure, they are the most must-see team in the NFL now with Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham Jr. But this is not a team that should have the fourth-best Super Bowl odds.

With a new target on their back, and a schedule full of obstacles, the Browns might not even get into the playoffs, Burack concludes. Cleveland has , nor appeared in one.

Cleveland kicks off its season at home against the Tennessee Titans, which went 9-7 last year. The Westgate SuperBook has the home team the favorites, with the Browns spotting the visitors five points. The over/under is at 45 points.

Week One NFL Odds

It comes as no surprise that the teams with the shortest odds of winning Super Bowl 54 are favored in their season openers.

The New England Patriots are six-point favorites (over/under 51.5 points) at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The defending champions have won three Vince Lombardi trophies since 2014.

The Kansas City Chiefs are spotting the Jacksonville Jaguars 5.5 points (over/under 52.5) playing away in Florida. The New Orleans Saints are favored by 7.5 points (53.5) at home against the Houston Texans.

The largest week one point spread belongs to the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that is giving visiting Washington Redskins eight points (46.5).

Super Bowl Odds

The Patriots and Chiefs remain the favorites in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl. Both teams are at 6/1 to win the championship. Bettors will be rewarded $600 for every $100 wagered should their selected team prevail.

The Saints are next at 8/1, then it s the Rams (10/1), Indianapolis Colts (12/1), and Browns, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears (14/1).

The longest odds are on the Miami Dolphins at 200/1. The implied odds are 0.5 percent. Should the unlikeliest of scenarios come true, bettors who wager just $10 will net $2,000.

Though oddsmakers have no clue which two teams will play in the Super Bowl, bettors can already put money on the big game s outcome. The SuperBook has the AFC favored at -140, and the NFC team the underdog at +120.
